England vs Pakistan 3rd Test Cricket Betting Tips And Prediction

  • England To Win the Match, 1.83

  • The conditions for the third test are going to be quite difficult for both teams but Pakistan more so
  • Both teams have a good bowling and a vulnerable batting order
  • England has more depth in its batting and is better equipped to deal with the conditions

The rain robbed us of a truly wonderful contest in the second test between England and Pakistan and the third test is also scheduled at the same venue. Thankfully, the weather forecast is a lot better for this upcoming match.

England has a 1-0 lead going into this match and so it cannot lose the series. Pakistan has not lost a series to England in the last decade and this is another opportunity for it to try and level the playing field.

Since only a total of 96 overs were possible in the second test, the players are going to be very fresh for the third test. The rain may force the groundsman to opt for the same pitch for this match, although, we are still hoping for a fresh surface for this match.

England vs Pakistan 3rd Test Match 2020 is going to be played at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, starting on the 21st of August 2020.

England added Zak Crawley to their lineup for the second match and he immediately showed his utility. We don’t think England is going to tweak its batting lineup at all for this match. What they should seriously look into is whether Dom Bess deserves a place in the final match. He did not bowl a single delivery in the previous match and England may just look to bolster their batting a bit.

What was encouraging or England was that its batsmen were able to play out the Pakistani bowlers relatively comfortably on Day 5 when they finally got the chance.

Batting is not going to be easy in the third test and we think England could do well to add another batsman in its side.

Stuart Broad and James Anderson bowled very well in the second test taking seven wickets between them. Chris Woakes was a bit unlucky to not have got more wickets but Sam Curran was disappointing.

Four bowlers are enough in helpful conditions but England is used to having Ben Stokes in their lineup which gives them five genuine bowlers. In his absence, Dominic Bess might just get another match.

Bowling in typical English conditions on a helpful pitch is something that Anderson and co. will be looking forward to once again.

Pakistan fought pretty well in the second test and would be disappointed to not have got a chance to bowl at the English batsmen. Mohammad Abbas and Shaheen Afridi looked very dangerous in the overs they bowled. There is no doubt that they are going to be dangerous in the final match as well.

Naseem Shah was once again a bit lacking in terms of the movement he generated. Pakistan may look to make a change and maybe bring in someone like Sohail Khan for the final test. Yasir Shah bowled well and looked dangerous and will continue to be the lone spinner.

Pakistan had brought in Fawad Alam to bolster the batting but his comeback began with a zero. The pressure is going to be on Alam to prove his worth in some of the toughest batting conditions that you will find.

Babar Azam is pure class and looked the most at ease out of both the teams. Mohammad Rizwan’s inning of 72 was gutsy and a bit lucky but he is going to gain in confidence none the less. Shan Masood has struggled after his century and Azhar Ali is a walking wicket right now.

Asad Shafiq is also short of runs which makes the Pakistani batting pretty vulnerable.

For Pakistan to win or have a chance of winning, someone must play an inning like what Shan Masood did in the first test. They have the bowling to give England a bloody nose but need enough runs to be able to get a win.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bowl first in our opinion to make the most of the conditions.

The surface at Southampton is expected to be quick, bouncy, and offer a lot of assistance to the fast-bowlers. The weather is going to be overcast and help the ball swing as well. The batsmen are going to challenge and the conditions are not really going to change as the match progresses.

We think England is going to enjoy the conditions being so typically English. This is the equivalent of playing in the subcontinent and getting a dust-bowl. The English fast-bowlers are going to be able to rely on their experience and extract everything that the surface has to offer.

The England batsmen are also going to be better equipped and trained to score in such conditions.

Bet on England to win.
