An excellent bowling performance from Keemo Paul and a brilliant batting one from SHimron Hetmyer was the backbone of their win against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have looked a bit rusty in CPL 2020.
They lost their opening match due to a poor bowling performance and apart from Hetmyer, none of their batsmen really fired in the second one either. These are some worrying signs and they will want to correct that as soon as possible.
One of the big changes seems to be in Chris Green’s bowling style. He has jad to change his action and is not able to generate the kind of pace he used to be able to. This means that the Warriors are not getting the economical powerplay overs from him like they used to.
A few more bad performances and there are going to be questions asked about Chrs Green’s place in the side.
The class of the batting is unquestionable, though, and it is just a matter of time before players like Brandon King, Sherfane Rutherford, and Nicholas Pooran join the party and start scoring consistently.

The Tallawahs have been woeful int their opening two matches. The tactics have been baffling from Powell while bowling and a lot of their senior players look disinterested. The slow surface is not doing them any favors but it really does not look like Andre Russell is happy to be turning out for the franchise at all.

The one player that has been impressive is probably Glenn Phillips. The Kiwi opening batsman is good against spin and has fought bravely in both the matches he has played. If he can get a big score he could maybe inspire some support from the other batsmen of the team.
The bowling attack of the Jamaica Tallawahs has two world-class spinners. Sandeep Lamichhane has been good in the overs he has bowled but the same cannot be said about Mujeeb ur Rehman.

The conditions have been batsman friendly but also pretty slow. Players that like the ball coming on to the bat have struggled and that is only going to continue. The spinners will have more and more impact as the tournament continues.
